Zone 33’s first Peace Symposium will be held Friday, April 5, at the Sheraton in Chapel Hill, NC. The theme will be "Peace is Possible” and is in honor of Rotary International President Tanaka’s theme, Peace Through Service.  Chapel Hill/Duke is one of Rotary International’s six Peace Centers and our Peace Symposium has been planned to coincide with the Peace Center Fellows presentations Saturday, April 6. You are invited to attend the Peace Symposium on Friday and the Duke/Chapel Hill program the next day.

A preview of a few of our speakers:

1. Past RI President and Chair of The Rotary Foundation Trustees Wilf Wilkenson will be our Keynote Speaker.

2.  Peace Fellow Amanda Martin, who is working in Thailand, will share information on her work with refugees. Amanda spoke at the RI Convention in Bangkok, and she is a great speaker.

3. Brian Julius, CEO of Speaking Books will share information on his new book about Polio which was written in collaboration with Rotary. In addition, he is writing a book on Peace.
