Scott Saylor - N.C. Railroad Company

Scott Saylor was elected President of the North Carolina Railroad Company in 2000 by its Board of Directors, after having joined the North Carolina Railroad Company in 1989 as General Counsel and Executive Vice President. At the time, he became NCRR's first full time employee I nearly 100 years. Today, his responsibilities include all management, operations,and planning of the company while working with private and community partners to bring rail-served industries to North Carolina. During Scott's tenure, the company has grown from approximately $300,000 in annual revenues in 1989 to more than $16 million today. The NCRR management team includes a staff of 14 full time employees. The company's 317 mile rail line, the chief rail artery through the state, extends from Charlotte to the Port Terminal at Morehead City. Scott's education includes a Bachelor of Science Administration from UNC-Chapel Hill, a law degree from North Carolina Central University, and he is a licensed attorney. He completed the Young Executive Program at the Kenan-Flager Business School at UNC in 1998.
